Before the year closes, send one message to a person who carried something for you this year — a teammate, a partner, a mentor — and name the specific thing, not a generic thanks. Be precise: the exact moment, the exact help. Nooyi wrote letters to the parents of her executives because she understood loyalty is built in detail. Specificity is the only thanks the brain actually files.
