The Practice

This morning, do nothing productive for the first hour you are awake. Make something warm, sit, look out a window, let the month settle without commentary. The instinct to immediately plan October is the engine refusing to idle. Let it idle. A mind that never settles never sees the pattern in what it just lived through.
