    Saturday Morning

    The Unhurried Hour

The hour you refuse to rush is the one that gives the week back its meaning.

    The Practice

Give one hour today entirely to something that produces nothing — a slow meal, an old record, a conversation with no agenda. Resist the urge to make it useful or to multitask through it. The over-driven nervous system needs proof that worth is not conditional on output, and the only way to deliver that proof is to spend time on purpose with no return. Let the hour be unhurried and let that be enough.
